Bones

A tiny edutainment game, inspired by the “find & click” prompt from the list of prompts from an RMIT Games class. Learn about the human skeleton!

I’ve released the game for free on itch.io. Playable in any desktop web browser.

The first implementation, in Unity, took around two weeks. After some player feedback, I later invested another two weeks to improve the game.

This was interesting to me as an anatomy study – an opportunity to model a human skeleton in 3D. It’s very low poly, but realistically proportioned.

Interaction handling was interesting, as well.

  • Unity’s physics simulation is used for dropping bones.
  • There are some interesting fine points in the 3D user interface here, such as the talking skull giving feedback, highlighting attachment positions and bones, aligning bones after picking up, etc. Take a look at this sequence here:
